About
Christkindlmarkt 2017
Terry Musselman has provided piano entertainment in the
southeastern Pennsylvania region for over forty years. He was the
weekly piano entertainer at Krista's Restaurant in Bethlehem from
1995 to 2007. Over the years, he performed regularly in
many Lehigh Valley restaurants, including the Well House,
the Black Forest Chalet, Trainer's Restaurant, and Benetz's Inn.
Currently, he performs regularly at McCoole's Red Lion Inn
in Quakertown.
In addition, Terry has played for many parties, including wedding
receptions, 50th anniversary parties, reunions, and other special
events. He has entertained at country clubs, private parties, retirement communities, assisted living facilities, and other locations and events.
Terry grew up loving music. His father was Leonard Musselman, a well-known bassist who performed in southeast Pennsylvania with various
big band, jazz, and country groups from the 1930s through the 2000s. At an early age, Terry learned how to play the piano. In high school he was a member of the Nosecones, a group of five musicians that were popular
in the Quakertown area for playing jazz and rock. They were in great
demand for fraternity parties at colleges in Philadelphia.
During his college years at Moravian College and Lehigh University, Terry
performed with the Jerry Joseph Quintet and many other local musicians.
In the mid-1960s, he met Gerald Gerber, a drummer, and they began
to play jobs at private clubs and large hotels in
Allentown and Bethlehem. Terry's father Leonard joined the group
as bassist, and the ensemble was officially named The Terry Randall
Trio.
The Trio began playing regularly
at The Well House in Allentown in 1970 and continued there when the
restaurant became The Black Forest Chalet. The group also performed
at many other Lehigh Valley restaurants, such as the the Bay Pony
Inn, Hilton Hotel, Benetz Restaurant, the Chit Chat Club, the Maples,
and the Palace Gardens Restaurant. In the mid-nineties, the
Terry Randall Trio began a long run of regular Saturday evening
appearances at Krista's Restaurant at the Holiday Inn in Bethlehem, in addition to bookings at private parties at Saucon Valley Country Club, Lehigh
Country Club, Brookside Country Club, and Northampton Country Club.
In recent years, Terry has focused on joint performances with professional soprano Jennifer
Graf, founder of the regional Christmas entertainment company Olde Towne Carolers, and became part of the organization in 2005. Terry and Jennifer are booked annually at Bethlehem's famous Christkindlmarkt, and perform for many private parties every Christmas season. Terry is the featured pianist on
Jennifer's CDs, Tidings of Christmas (2006) and
Echoes of
Christmas Past (2009), as well as Olde Towne Carolers' CD Sing We Noel (2016).
